Era Software

1. Set up an account

EraCloud offers fully managed, hosted EraSearch. With EraCloud, you can spend less time maintaining your log-management setup, focusing instead on learning and getting the most from your data. Every EraCloud account comes with the following:

  • EraSearch database - A high-performance, scalable database for log management
  • EraSearch UI - A UI for exploring and interacting with log data

There are two options for creating an EraCloud account. You can create an account directly through Era Software or you can go through Amazon Web Services (AWS) Marketplace. This page walks through both options.

Note: As of October 2021, EraCloud supports hosting on AWS only. Future releases will support Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure.

Get an account through Era Software

Follow these steps to set up your EraCloud account directly through Era Software:

  1. Navigate to the EraCloud sign-up page, enter your details in the account form, and click Create account.
  2. Next, click Verify email address in the email you receive from Era Software support.
  3. To configure your database, follow the prompts to select your cloud provider and region.
  4. Click Launch EraSearch to get started with EraSearch. This button takes you to an overview page where you'll wait up to three minutes for EraSearch to launch.

You're all set. Next, visit 2. Write data to start working with your database.

Get an account through AWS marketplace

Follow the steps below to set up your EraCloud account through AWS Marketplace.

Step 1: Register with EraCloud through AWS Marketplace

  1. Navigate to EraSearch on AWS Marketplace and click Continue to Subscribe.
  2. Next, select your preferences in the Renewal Settings and Contract Options sections, and then click Create contract > Pay now > Setup your account.

Tip: If you're not sure what to put in the Contract Options box, enter 1. The option sets the number of EraSearch instances for your account. One EraSearch instance is scalable and meets the needs of most users. You can always go back and change this option later, and you're only charged for what you use.

  3. Fill out the information in the new window, and click Complete Registration.

When you're done, you'll see Success! Registration Complete with instructions to wait for an email from Era Software support. The page redirects to the Era Software homepage after 15 seconds.

Step 2: Log in to your EraCloud account

  1. Once you receive the email from Era Software support, follow its instructions to set a secure password and log in to EraCloud.
  2. Next, follow the prompts to select AWS as your cloud provider and choose your region.
  3. Click Launch EraSearch to get started with EraSearch. This button takes you to an overview page where you'll wait up to three minutes for EraSearch to launch.

You're all set with your EraCloud account. Next, visit 2. Write data to start working with your database.
